What an experience! We did 90 minutes with a stopover. Our pilot Sol was absolutely excellent. My favorite moment was passing up between mountains over a gushing waterfall and then over the lake above that flowed down. I also enjoyed circling over a whale, which gave a very different perspective on it and its size than seeing it from the side, and following goats up a hillside. Every moment was magical and unforgettable. I never stopped taking photos and vids because it was all so beautiful and I wanted these beautiful memories that would last longer. The stopover was well worth it, not because it was especially interesting, but because it broke up the experience and made it feel varied and longer.

This was our favorite excursion we did in Alaska. We booked directly with the company. I spoke with Ginger a couple times with questions before our trip and she was very helpful and friendly. Kim was our guide for the trip and she was outstanding. She was very, very knowledgeable and just a great guide. The floatplane ride was fun and very scenic. We saw bears when we arrived at the viewing platform. We were not rushed at all and saw several more bears while there. I highly recommend this company and this excursion...5 stars!!

We picked this airtour company because they gave an early bird discount. I was lucky enough to sit in the co-pilots seat. My first time in a small aircraft since I was a teenager. The pilot and owner was business like and friendly. The views were great and the landing on water was so smooth, you actually do not feel coming in. The spot we landed on the fjords was pristine. I got too close to a nesting mama bird and got buzzed by that bird. My wife thought that was hilarious. After the fjords we got the alpine views of the hills with snow. All around great experience. My wife got slightly airsick, but I felt great. This was our second Ketchikan trip and the plane ride made this trip memorable.

Our tour was scheduled for 8AM but it was too windy when it was time to leave so they got us on the 11AM tour and we were able to still do the tour. It was an absolutely amazing experience. The BEST way to see Ketchikan. I would highly recommend this tour and Seawind Aviation.

My husband and I planned this tour months in advance with Lesley, Steve's wife. I like to do a lot of research before a trip and found these reviews very helpful. Lesley always wrote right back with answers to my questions and we formed a friendship via internet! Both are great people to meet and know. Another couple joined as four can be seated, as we had connected through Cruise Critic. We had a half hour flight over Ketchikan but saw so much in about the 20 to 30 miles we covered. We didn't see bears or much wild life, except for lots of eagles, but that didn't really matter. The views were special and since Steve had grown up in the area, he knew exactly where to fly. He also gave us lots of history and personal stories. If we had more time we would have taken the Misty Fords flight but this was fine as were able to hike later in the Tongass National Forest. Steve flew over Ward Lake, which we knew we would be hiking later so that was very special. The service is great and the value, as someone noted, exceptional as well. I truly recommend Lesley and Steve Kamm at Sea Wind Aviation!

We (4 adults) took a cruise to Alaska, and although a couple of the individuals have some fear of small planes, we decided to do the misty fjords excursion (we booked this directly, not through the ship). From beginning to end the experience was wonderful. We were picked up on time and taken to their office, where 10-12 bald eagles were perched nearby. After checking the radar and webcams (we were allowed to also view) we boarded the plane and took off. Takeoff, landing and the flight it self was very peaceful and we were advised of all the different scenery (with nice music when people weren't talking). Communication is easy, and the scenery is beautiful. We did not see any wildlife, but the experience and views made it all more than worthwhile! This is a definite must do!

Fantastic experience with Seawind Aviation This trip with Seawind Aviation was everything I hoped it would be and more. We are a family of 4 with two "kids" of 22 and 19. I booked this many months ago as part of an epic trip across the US culminating with a 10-day cruise to Alaska. Through the booking process, Lesley and her colleagues were fantastic and provided a view (not a recommendation) on which trip to book for the best chance to see bears. I booked the Prince of Wales trip but we ended up at Traitors Cove as the chances of seeing bears were better for us. Lesley met us in Ketchikan and helpfully hung around for a couple who were late getting off the ship due to a mix-up in timings. Lesley took us straight to the float plane and boarded us. I think we were the first of the day as our guide ( a lovely lady named Kim) also flew with us. The flight was fantastic and was the first time any of us had been on a floatplane. The landing was very smooth and we docked at the dock. Kim drove us to to the top of the trailhead and we talked us through some of the flora and fauna as we walked down to the viewing area. As soon as we got there we spotted a bald eagle in a tree and when we looked down at the creek we saw our first bear. We were lucky to 6 or 7 bears including a mum with two cubs. The whole thing was amazing. We did not feel rushed and we spent about an hour at the viewing platform. On the way back, Kim took us up to a scenic spot to see the lake where the Salmon were heading too - this in itself looked like something out of a Bob Ross painting.. Kim then took us back to the dock and we waited for our plane to come in and take us back. The whole thing was just fantastic. Everyone from Seawind were awesome and very friendly and, alhough they would have been busy all day, we never felt rushed at all... an absolutely outstanding trip and one I'd recommend to anyone.

Loved it! Allow a few hours for this, but it’s so worth it! Made our trip to Alaska. Max our pilot was fantastic, pointing out spots on the way and looking for animals on the flight, the scenery was absolutely incredible. If you are considering this it’s definitely worth the money and you will not regret it! Highlight of our trip for sure! The playlist as we were flying was awesome too. Thank you!

Manifest Glory!!! An experience that is well worth the money. The float plane ride over land and sea was breathtaking . Then once we gracefully landed, we were ushered into a rainforest blanketed with all colors of green, not 5 minutes into our adventure we saw a very large Sow, only 10 feet away… thrilling in its self, but it was nothing compared to the view at the fish ladder!!! We lost track of how many bear we saw! At least 10? With reoccurring action scenes of mamma bears with cubs, big ol male bears, and juveniles, all catching and eating their abundant salmon. Overhead a bald eagle came in for a landing to eat his fair share! God’s creation was in its manifest glory! Truly a blessing!!
