Remote Cabins and Charter Flights

IMG_3497_web Regardless if it is for work or play, our experienced pilots  are waiting to take you into the Tongass National Forest in a classic DeHavilland Beaver (DHC-2) aircraft. DHC-2 can carry the same load of a standard boat and can travel the same distance, in about a third of the time! Aircraft also allow you to access mountain lakes in the breathtaking Misty Fjords. Our aircraft offer an increased useful load and a versatile “Alaska Door”, large enough to load your gear with ease. In the event your group requires a second aircraft to accommodate people and gear, we have options to suit your needs. Charters can be arranged as one way or round trip and can be to a beach or a dock, in a lake or on salt water. Download our  Remote Cabin Packing List (PDF) for an idea of the total load per Beaver (approximately 1,100 pounds including people, coolers, fishing gear, etc). For information to help plan your departure, download our Remote Charter Flyer (PDF) or call us at 877-225-1203 and together we will figure out how to transport you to your remote destination!

One Way Charters

In southern Southeast Alaska, work could demand an airplane for a worksite commute or you may just want to join up with a boat for an adventure. Since our aircraft can go virtually anywhere on salt water that a boat can go, the efficiency of air travel is worth consideration. Or we could take you to fresh water and high in the mountains around Revillagiedo, Prince of Wales and the Misty Fjords National Monument. Simply obtain the latitude and longitude or the common place name for your desired destination and then give us a call to receive a quote. Charter destinations can be unique and demand that we bill by actual flight time.

Round Trip Charters

All charters are not created equal and sometimes, you just need to get away from it all… The U.S. Forest Service maintains more than 100 comfortable, semi-rustic and remote cabins within charter range of Ketchikan. These cabins are situated on lakes, streams or saltwater inlets. Click on USDA Forest Service Cabins to explore locations in serene wilderness settings, waiting for you to enjoy. Once a location is selected, call us for a quote. Our rates include both a drop off and a pick up that is 1, 2, or 10 days later. Cabins accommodate approximately 4-8 people and are either sturdy Pan-Abodes or traditional A-frames. Amenities include boats, oars, bunks and wood or oil-burning stoves (firewood provided, but oil is not). Don’t forget a small outboard motor if you plan to explore the lake.
