About SeaWind Aviation of Ketchikan Alaska

SeaWind Aviation is an Alaskan family operation committed to providing the finest Alaska flightseeing, Misty Fjords, and Alaska bear viewing tours in the state’s magnificent Southeast panhandle.

Steve Kamm was born and raised in Ketchikan Alaska. He has more than 23 years of experience flying commercially for the largest air taxis in Southeast Alaska and has logged more than 17,000 hours of commercial flight time in seaplanes.

Steve is also a second-generation Alaskan pilot. He gets his love of flying from his father, Cliff Kamm, who logged approximately 40 years of safe commercial flying in this region, in both seaplanes and helicopters.

Steve's great grandfather, E.C. Phillips came to Ketchikan in 1926 from Grimsby, England. He worked on the Ketchikan cold storage dock before founding his own fish processing plant, E.C. Phillips and Son, in 1950. E.C. Phillips and Son is still going strong today as it serves the fish processing needs for all Ketchikan fishermen.

Joining us for the 2012 season is Adam Petersen. Adam got his first flying job in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina in 2002, and then made his way to Alaska the following year. He flew for LAB Flying Service for 2 years in Juneau, Alaska then flew corporate in Missoula Montana for 3 years. Adam missed flying in Alaska, and returned in 2009 to Ketchikan again flying for 2 of the larger float plane companies.

Adam grew up in Washington and Minnesota where he played hockey and baseball and did a lot of hunting and fishing. As part of an aviation oriented family, he graduated from Saint Cloud State University in Minnesota with a bachelor of Science, Aviation Operations. Adam’s parents reside in Petersburg, Alaska and his father is a retired air force and delta pilot. His older brother works for Comair Air out of Detroit but also resides in Petersburg, Alaska. Welcome aboard, Adam!

Lesley Kamm runs SeaWind Aviation's ground operations, reservations and marketing. She is also a mother to 3 little girls, Kendall 10, Shelby 8, and Stevie 6.

All tours include pick-up and drop-off at the Ketchikan Visitors Information Center (the building behind our courtesy van) in front of our "Liquid Sunshine Gauge" located on the cruise ship dock.
